Got to the lake atound noon. After making the short easy 6 1/2 mile hike, I took the Greg ball trail route. I didn't bring the raft this time, I just wanted to scout the area, so I made due fishing on some logs near shore. Wasn't long before I got my first hits, I was fly fishing parallel to shore out on the end of a log( dangerous) I caught 5 6" to 10" trout quickly on an unnamed fly from a "rocky mountain fly kit" I'm a noob a fly fishing...anyway..I list a couple flies in the tree limbs got irritated and moved on.. Next spot I busted out the kastmaster on the spinning set up which was good for a beauty 13" cutt. Pretty fish, he puked up a gnarly pile of worms promptly after I landed it. I saw some big trout following my lures... There are some seriously good quality trout in this lake. I hiked around looking for good access near shore... Not much there. I'm definitely bringing the raft next time.

How feasible would a mountain bike be to get to the lake, on the Greg Ball trail? Save much time? Pushing a bike up steep inclines, with a backpack can be awkward,.

Moto, that's my thought too. I've been wanting to give that a try, just haven't had the time to do that yet. It'd be fun to bring a float tube and fish this lake. maybe next weekend? I'll write a report if I get to it.
Thanks for the report!
