Fished for one weak in the Okanogan area several different lakes and Ruffus Woodsl had a ball as all areas produced many fish, but back to Palmer lake Kokanees the fishing was fantastic The fish were holding in ten to twenty foot water depth and good size schools were easy to locate fished with a small dodger and wedding ring with smiley blade hooks tipped with shoe peg corn produced fast limits. Fished Palmer three different days for fast action each day. Fished Fish lake two days with Fly rood and belly boat for fast action with a Damsel fly nymph. The fish were All caught on barbless hooks and released to fight an other day since I had Kokanees to eat. Also made a run to the Columbia for some Triploids. Put in at Timm Ranch and headed up to the lower pens. had to work hard for one six and one three pound fish on black jigs but had fair action on smaller fish released to be caught on a later date when they are larger. Black Jigs 1/8 or 1/16 ounce seemed to produce best. A great weak in the Okanogan

Looks like the 2nd fish from the top is a clipped fish. If that is the case, it was a plant from Omak hatchery I think.

Thanks for the report Ganno, Nice Pics by the way. Ya gotta love that body of water. Cindy and I haven't made our run north to Palmer yet this year, but looks like we need to. Take care and keep the reports coming

Was up at the family house on Palmer from the 20th- 24th. The Koks we caught were bigger this year, than the ones we caught the last 2 years. Fatter and longer. We were simply trolling a Panther Martin, with one or two split shots about 2 feet up from the lure, and white corn on the hooks. Out of the several we caught, I think only 1 was a little 12-13" skinny bugger. All were released though. Not much for the bass, because the water came up several feet while we were there, when it is usually going down at that time. Caught a few decent LM and SM, but nothing bigger than 2-3 lbs. Biggest LM was over by the flooded willows. Caught a nice Rainbow just fishing a worm on the bottom off the shore. Also plenty of perch, and even caught a crappie. Been a few years since I brought a crappie in at the lake, so that was a nice surprise. Will be back up in late July/ early August, and then of course for Labor Day weekend.
