Met my buddy Mark at Lake Meridian at about 0700 to do battle with the kokes.
Figured it was a good sign that as I launched the boat at the WDFW ramp another guy was coming back in with a limit.
I fished the same pink set-up with Dick Nite splatter dodger and pink/silver spin-n-glo and the Mack's Double-D with orange cream cha-cha squidder. Mark used an FST style salmon spoon converted to koke dodger with a red wedding ring. Mark's rod and the pink set-up were baited with pink fire corn and the Mack's rig was baited with meal worms. All rigs caught fish!!
Best trolling speed was about 1.4 and we did counter clockwise loops around the mid-lake area with best success for the day along the east and north edges of the trolling pattern.
2 limits in the boat and off the water by about 9:30 and we probably lost 12-15 more - slow retrieve rate seemed to lose a few less fish today.
They'll be in the smoker after I finish this report...
Went back to the lake mid-day and took the Fish Princess out for the maiden voyage on her towable tube. Lots of smile and thrills and even a few spills!!
Good luck and tight lines out there!
