Finally broke the bad luck streak that's been dogging me so far this fishing season. I went out to Lake Lenore this morning with my friend, Ken West. We were surprised to see 17 other anglers fishing the north end of the lake on this Monday morning. Fished for about 3 hours. We shared the north end with a small herd of horses that came down to the shore and proceeded to, for lack of a better phrase, horse around.
The fish, as usual, were moody. Some fishermen using the right type and size of chironomids consistently took trout. Others, like Ken and I, got some when they were hitting with abandon. I ended up catching and releasing seven cutthroats once I switched over to a fire tiger colored spoon. Ken also hooked into a couple of trout fishing with the Chironomids.
The wind and cooling weather blew pretty much everybody off the water by 1 PM. All in all, a good day!
