Caught these Kokanee Footballs between 5:00 and 6:15 A/M on the East side of Silcox Island in 70 to 80ft of water using Pink Minihoochies behind Bahamamama Dodgers 32 to 42ft down on the wire and 29 pulls back. Starting to run out of room in the freezer so it's time to crank up the "Ole Smoker" and take a batch into my crew at work.

I think I saw you out there this morning~ I was in the smokercraft with blue canvas top. Ended up with 2 kokanees and 5 rainbows after I picked up my buddy at the launch but had to call it a day at 11am due to issues with my job unfortunately.

Hey, Slayer I met you this morning on the ramp. Any chance I could get a morning of fishing with you? I just haven't been able to dial in American lake.

Salmonbarry, believe I saw you as well. I was in the White and Gray Hewescraft with the top up. Next time swing by and say Hi. Great to hear that you were catching.

OldVet, It was great to meet you. American can be a finicky lake to fish for Koks, as you know. Every once in a while I just get lucky. There are some very good anglers who regularly fish the lake and routinely kick butt. You're welcome to join me sometime; I'll shoot you a PM one of these weekends. Mark

MotoBoat, Didn't measure them but if I had to guess, I would say the sizes ranged from 12 to 14 inches.

Nice fish. I have been breaking in my new smoker, and have taken 2 batches to work. My co-workers love em. I notice the kokes taste better than the trout, prabably because they have more oil in them. But with the spices, they all taste good.
