We stayed in our neighborhood today and hit Green Lake.. I took my son and one of my buddies kids down there to see about wrangling some of those Triploids they planted for fathers day. The weather was pretty overcast and looked like it might even rain, which usually means crappy fishing down there in my experience. well, it wasn't crappy, cuz fishing never is.. but it wasn't on fire either.. after about 45 minutes one of the poles starts bouncing hard and my buddies daughter picks it up and reels, it fights, she reels it leaps and dances and bam, it jumps in a fellow fishermans loaner net.. its a triploid! about 20 minutes later my Son's pole gets slammed and almost pulled into the lake.. he grabbed it and wrestled in another triploid.. dig it! love knocking out some of the big'uns in the lake.
we spent another hour with no bites and packed it up, and headed out..
I took the kids for a scouting mission after that into Fremont to check out a very soon future fishing location in the channel where I spotted a big smallmouth lurking around the rocks right in town pretty much.. coming back here soon! Then we headed to the Ballard Locks to check out the Sockeye filled ladders.. lots of fish up in there! i'll include a picture..
all in all it was a fun adventurous day.. and I was glad to get the kids on some fish after i promised them last week we would catch! :) love when a plan comes together!!!
