Long time lurker first time poster!

I usually fish lake washington off of docks but today a buddy and I decided to go to lake sammamish for the first time. Boy were we suprised when we got there. Didn't realize we wouldn't have any docks to fish off of. We followed the trail at the park out to shallow water in the sand. We walked to a little mini island with a lot of sand (very scenic, i'm sure a lot of you know the place i'm talking about).

We walked about thigh deep into water (after about 5 mins we realized we weren't able to cast far enough) and casted out as far as possible. After about 20 mins caught on to a pretty decent sized perch and about 20 mins later caught another a little bit bigger. Pretty decent spot and would love to come back with some bass lures and test my luck.

If anyone knows any good spots on the lake I would love to hear about them! I don't have the luxury of a boat so keep that in mind lol. Thanks!

You might want to try fishing from Idylwood Park instead of Marymoore. Its just up the road from Marymoore by about 1/2 mile. There is also a new public beach area on eastlake sammamish, just across the lake from Idylwood. Nice perch btw.

It sounds like he was at the Lake Sammamish State Park and was fishing the mouth of the creek. You could always walk to the boat launch area and fish off the dock there. I see people do it all the time. Just make sure to get out of the way for boat traffic.

As stated by SammamishYak, there is a dock at Idylwood Park. Looks to be a pretty decent park. Directly east of the park on the other side, I'm not exactly what kind of "park" it is. When I boat along that area, I can clearly see the trailer, but I can't tell where you'll be able to park. There's some decent SMB along that area because of the nice rocks. There were a couple of docks, but when I saw them, they were closed off and being worked on. There's plenty of shore access too.

The new area Sammamish Yak mentioned may be Sammamish Landing. I rode by on my bike. Very small area, but a nice dock. Seemed like a good place to hang out all day--fish in the am then tube when it warms up! Here's info:

How's the wind on the lake right now? I'm tempted to go out this evening on the boat.... :o Any thunder clouds overhead? Rain possibilities? The dock at Idylwood didn't look like a swimming dock, but I never got close to it to see.

Not windy at all. A little over cast but the clouds are pretty white. The dock was full of kids swimming so I didn't even attempt I'm headed to marymoor park now

I'm at sammamish landing now. Very quiet but pretty sure these docks fare for swimming

Walk along the path. Should be some decent spots to cast out. I think I will stay in. If I leave right now, I probably wont be able to get onto the water until 5PM with traffic. That gives me maybe 3 hrs to fish. Checking weather radar, it's cutting a little too close. Good luck out there.

Tried off that dock for about an hour with a one spinners. On my other rod we had a drop shot with a night crawler and a power egg. No bites.
