Got to Leland around 0645 and caught the 1st and smallest trout 2 minutes after sitting my rod down. Thought that was going to set the tone for the day but the next one wasn't until 2 hours later and the 3rd 10 minutes after that. I was using a pink "Gulp" with a power bait hatchery formula kicker on a 4 foot leader.
Some people were on the dock using worms under a float they seemed to be having a good time and catching a few.

I haven't been out to Leland in a few weeks, sounds like its slowed down a bit. Though the dock is the better place to fish, and I personally think worms work best out there. Did you try fishing from the dock at all?

I agree, worms do work very good at this lake. Also I've noticed when Im using a worm the hits are a lot harder.
