Started with top water, then a rattle trap, and caught the first fish on my new casting rod and new casting reel, a fiberglass cranken rod, a little 3/4 pounder smallie on the rattle trap. 5:25 am

Went with the rattle trap, top water, and then favorite crankbait for awhile, nuttin.

Got to a certain dock and started dropshotting, caught 2, 1 pounders, one on each corner of the dock, 12 feet deep, slow bite, had to let it set for 20 seconds or so. 6:22 and 6:26 am

Got to another dock I haven't caught a fish off for a few years, hooked a good sized one that was on for quite a while, then popped off the dropshot. Caught another 1/2 pounder a few docks further along on the crankbait out from the dock. 6:54 am

couple smallies at 7:01 and 7:19

Had a pounder smallie SLAM!!!! the dropshot outside a pad line. 7:35 am

Caught a couple off a spot that used to be GREAT for catching fish but has been barren for awhile now. 8:15 and 8:22

Ended up with 9 fish, the biggest at 2.16 pounds, a Smallie on the dropshot at 7:01.

Green Pumpkin Pepper Copper flakes. Sniper Snub #2031 Nose hooked with 8" to 10" leader.

Not bad for 4 1/2 hours.

i tried my 1st drop shot rig today.. green pumpkin with red flakes worm and about 15 inches leader.. nuttin.

Nice! I wish I could have a good day. This year has been horrible. I have a club tourney on Washington on Saturday. I didn't pre-fish cuz I figured it would be a waste of gas. I need to get to Sawyer or Meridian. I'm on vacation in a couple weeks maybe I'll head that way.

Nice day! Are there any restrictions as for how early you can launch on this lake? Can u use a motor this early? Thx

Nice! Bmastro777, Meridian launch should open up at 7AM, at least the city park with the dock. The WDFW should be open at all times. Warning though. There is a speed limit set. It's like 8MPH until 9AM. Something similar with Sawyer too.
