I decided to dodge the opening day crowds and try a new lake in the potholes area. Several weeks ago I had checked this lake out and it looked like decent camping and good fishing. The warning sign as I drove in said..."Any further problems and this gate will be locked" That should have set off alarms. After blowing out the tire on my truck just outside Mosses Lk. in the pouring rain, we made it to a camping spot on Goose Th. evening. I fished for about a hour with no luck. Friday morn. the lake was glass and sun was out. I trolled a spinner and chunk of nightcrawler for several hours with one 16 inch walleye for my efforts. I passed the one other boat on the lake and that guy had caught 2 bows and lost one about 4 lbs, so there are some nice fish in there. The one other camper on the lake was leaving, so I decided to move to their spot that afternoon. Big mistake! The sparkling glass and million beer caps should have warned me. Not 2 hours after getting the tent and camping gear moved, in comes 6 carloads of Hispanic teens ready to party. Out comes the boom box with rap music and we were surrounded by a gang of teens. Having just moved camp I wasn't about to be chased off. We asked a girl what their plans were and she said they would leave by 8pm. 6-8 dove off the cliffs into the 55 degree water and then about 8pm they all jumped in the cars and left us there to dead silence. All that was left was 6 cases of empty beer bottles and a mess of garbage on the ground. See my Warden Lk report.
