Fished Evergreen for the first time on Friday. Took my girlfriend out in our new boat and aside from her catching a few zzz's, the rod only bent twice with a couple of perch. Not quite the tiger musky, (or walleye?) that I was told were in the lake. But she was a trooper. We were on the lake from 6am till 12 and she even fished through a thunder and lightning storm, which surprised me.
I am planning on trying this lake again, as I found some very interesting structure. Like a plateau on the West end of the lake, almost center North-South. The water is about 35 feet then rises to 20 feet and then drops back to 35 feet. The weeds on the East end of the lake by the inlet canal could also be decent.
One last note, the mosquitoes were EXTREMELY bad at the West end boat launch. Once I got out of the truck I had 5 or 6 land on just my arms. So out came the OFF! Once out in the middle of the lake I didn't notice any, but I am sure that the wind helped with this.
Any advice on the lake would be welcomed.
