This report is for three days of fishing. I read several reports on this site as well as others that Silver Lake in South Everett has some nice size Trout. I arrived to the lake around 5:40 on Saturday 5/25 at the high Dock. It was a beautiful morning the sun was starting to shine through the clouds and onto the water. Fish were jumping and dancing like crazy. Before I even got my line wet I saw a huge (18-20in) jump and tail walk 30 yards or so out. I only had limited time on Saturday to fish and ended up pulling out 2 on chartreuse power eggs fishing from the bottom and 1 on a bobber and worm. I ended leaving with those 3 by 9am. I did watch an older fisherman pull out a fat hog of a fish that day.
Sunday was a little different it was slightly windy and raining but as it turned out it was my day, I got to the lake about 5:10 on the doc with line in the water by 5:20, first cast fish it the power egg before the weight even hit bottom, lost it as it jumped out of the water. Lost one more then by around 6:30 another fisherman showed up and asked how I was doing, at that same moment I got a hit. and brought in another fish. I had caught 3 fish by 8am and was starting to get tired and the bit had slowed down tremendously so I was thinking about leaving but decided to reposition my line for another 20 or so minutes. Once again as soon my bait hit the water the fish hit it. This time it was a real fighter, it took two nice runs and gave a good tug on its end. after a few minutes and help from a fellow fisherman who netted it for me (I was on the high dock). I went home happy.
Sunday the weather was a bit better... not so much sun but very calm glass like water. I fished from 5:20 to 8:30 and brought in another 3 12-15 inchers..
I ended up with 10 fish total over 3 days 9 of them between 12-16 inches and one that was 19.5 and 1.8 pounds. I barbequed one filet and Smoked the rest...So if you ask Yes I had a good weekend.
