Arrived at Quarry Pond just after dawn. Fishing was steady, though not spectacular. These were recently stocked hatchery rainbows. They were taking Powerbait eggs and Powerbait in small balls fished three to five feet below a bobber. We saw frequent others catching fish with the same rig. Bottom fishermen were getting skunked. In all, our group of four people caught nine trout in four hours. Of course, the newest fisherman caught his limit and I, the oldest and most experienced, caught one, just before we left the pond for the holiday crowd that had arrived while we fished. For a West side fisherman, visiting his son over on the warm, dry side of the state, it was a nice change from the cold and damp of my usual fishing spots.
