Last night Weather.com said 30% chance of showers. Well that 30% came down in the first 2 hours I was there as 100% rain. But the wind stayed away, otherwise it would have been miserable. I ended up with water up to my shoe at the stern side.
The fishing prediction graph said fishing was suppose to be good 6-9am. Not great. It was suppose to be better later but I have to work so I wasn’t going to try it.
I started with my new rod equipped with Dick Nite Pink Splatter dodger and Wannafish A Lure Pink Splatter Squiddy and Watermelon dodger with Pretty in Pink Kokanee. Trolled around for over an hour with only a couple of bites. I started about 6:30 and I was first in the parking lot. When I quit at 10am it was really full.
So I switched after 8am and put on Dick Nites Chartreuse HotHead and Clown Dodgers with Wannafish A Lure Squiddy Thang Yellow which is responsible for the 4 fish that I brought home. But the Clown with the green spin and glo with flash tied onto the hook had so many fish come to the boat (lost) that I am going to try it again with a different hook set up, also of note was that my new rod did not bring a fish into the boat.
End result: 2 rainbow and 2 kokanee. Lost count of how many I didn’t get but it kept it interesting.
I took the temp at 15 foot and it was 52 degrees. I had the best results at 21 and 11 feet of cable in the areas I went. I did not find them in schools except where the still fishermen were chumming. Even they took a little longer getting their fish today.
