First time on Lake Cushman (and first fishing report!). Launched my kayak from the ramp at the LC Resort where we camped for the soggy Memorial Day weekend. Lots of intermittent rain, and the accompanying wind really raised some chop - water coming over the boat’s coming when facing upwind. Stayed close to east shore and trolled for kokanee, using a Seps pink/yellow dodger and a brass/red wedding ring tipped with pink Fire Corn and a Gulp maggot. Brought in three fish while heading north, and found a school at a little “bay” about 2 miles up from the resort. My guess on trolling depth is about 25’. Was able to catch a fish every time I made a run through the spot. Netted a total of seven fish but all but the last two were less than keeper size and by then I was pretty much in the catch and release mode so all went back. Upside of the weather was there was little to no water ski / jet ski action. High score for ease of catching, but would have liked to have seen some bigger fish. Beautiful place to visit!

Good report, the last time we fished it was more then a couple of years, the kokes avereged about 8 or 9 inches with a 10 every now and then .Try launching closer to the upper end, some larger trout amoungst those stumps, but don't troll anything too costly, those stumps are unforgiving. Bob R

I plan on fishing this lake in June, 2nd and 4th weekends. Glad to see a report up there! Awesome lake as the traffic isn't nearly as bad as most! The fish are small but are very tasty as the meat is good. If you want to hook big fish the like Chinook you need to go real deep and they are now protected. :( Otherwise lots of holdover trout at "lower cushman" Lake Kokanee and limits come fast. Great for kayaking as there is a nice waterfall towards the Cushman dam. I'm hoping to catch some bigger than average "8-9 and 10 inchers!" We will see what trolling over the apple orchards by Antler hotel bring me. See you out there!
