So I will put on all the days I fished Park on this one report along with some motor issues again:

Tuesday~ After the storm on Monday I headed over to Park lake Tuesday mid morning and things had calmed down qutie a bit so I check into Sun lakes resort to get our cabin for my buddies showing up on Wednesday. After getting the Tin Cup into the lake and unpacking decided to hit the lake and see if I couldn't stir up some trout! I trolled around for quite a while without a strike and it was hot out!!

I found a spot where I could anchor and threw out the power bait and ended up limiting in a few hours with some nice chunky rainbows.

Wednesday~ After a fun morning on Moses and deep lakes my buddies and I took a break and headed into Coulee city to see if we couldn't get the Tin cup running right as I was having the same issues as before so should have heeded G-man's suggestion and replace all the fuel lines when I first had the motor problems. Picked up 24" of fuel line and replaced all the fuel lines and then took it out for a test spin and she ran great so since we had 7 fish to go to get our daily limit we set out the lines with a fire tiger needlefish and spinning fly and picked up our limit before 6pm and had a great meal back at the cabin

Thursday~ In between wind gusts we were able to get our 15 fish limit with lots of nice fillets to take home but got them all soaking power bait

Friday~ My buddies checked out so now I had to pack up and wait for our church group of 20 men show up for our annual retreat. I got out and trolled and did not get a hit and noticed some pretty nasty looking thunder heads rolling my way and soon say flashed of lightning hitting the hills to the East so decided being on the water in a tin cup with lightning was not a good mix so got off the water just in time before all hell broke loose with thunder, lightning and a heavy downpour!! It lasted about 2 hours and finally about 4pm the skies started to clear and by 5pm when everyone showed up it was like nothing happened! Except for about 5 gallons of rain water in the boat! Went out for the evening troll but the drop in pressure sure took the bite off so no fish to be had.

Saturday~ Derby day!! Now the fun begins!! So we had our own little contest going on for 1st fish, biggest fish and 1st limit. I headed over to my favorite cove where I took my brother-in-law and nephew last Saturday to win the derby and anchored up and threw out my power bait to where I know some lunkers lurk and also where last year had lost my favorite net to a wind gust ( put that in for a reason) After about 10 minutes Ron the leader of the group came over and anchored across from me and not too long after my rod dips and the line starts peeling off. After a good run I can feel it's got some weight so ease it in and it keeps make a run for Ron's anchor rope and he gets the 1st peek at it and yells it's a big brown!! yahoo!! Landed it and was the winning fish with just under 23" and 4.5lbs!

So here comes the best part~ after Ron left to go get breakfast ready along comes Bob and Nick into the cove and I tell them I will pull anchor and go help Ron and they can have my spot. Well I left one line in and as I pull up the second anchor my rod gets hung up on something so I think I have bottom. But as I am pulling it I noticed it is actually coming up. Bob and Nick ask what I think I have and I respond that I think I have hooked my net I lost over a year ago in the same spot. They chuckled thinking I have to be crazy but sure enough, as it gets closer wouldn't you know it is my net and as a bonus have 2 perch in it!! haha I let them go and headed in with my prize net! haha
Went back out after breakfast until noon caught a couple more and then took Nick to Deep lake until 2:30pm; came back and played 9 holes of golf until 6pm up at Vic Meyers golf and then had dinner called it a day as I was exhausted!

Thanks for reading and hope to get back out somewhere this weekend, maybe Elliot bay for lingcod!

Hey Nick, it's Toni's lures at www.wannafishalure.com. Look at some of her reports from clear lake as she advertises them on the bottom of her report.

Thanks for all of your helpful reports on Park Lake, Barry! I'm headed back there for Memorial Day weekend and look forward to fishing there again. I've had pretty good success in the past and your reports have given me some new things and areas to experiment with.

Appreciate your candor with the bait and tackle recommendations and sharing your favorite spots.
