So gave this a 3 just because it was my 1st time fishing for walleye and was pretty pleased to get one even though not very big~ I will be back!

We launched at Connelly park at 6:30am and headed to the middle of the lake and started trolling toward Rocky Ford creek in about 17' of water. Had both rods set up with bottom walkers and work harness set up I had picked up at Big Wallys in Coulee City and a nice fat night crawler on each set up. Noticed I wasn't get that sexy bounce on the bottom so added a bit more weight to the them and then they started the dance!

About half way down in 15' of water we get our 1st take and it's a nice little 13" walleye! I am stoked! We had another really nice take down that destroyed our worm but somehow missed the double hooks later and finally called it a day around 10:30 as we wanted to get to Deep lake and finish the day at Park.

On a side note, back at the cabin that evening at Sun Lakes resort I took the walleye fillets and dipped them in my own sweet and seasoned batter and rolled in panco bread crumbs and fried in peanut oil. Make a chipotle tartar sauce and oh my!! Now I know why people love these fish!! Can't wait to go back and get some more!!

And the best part is the smaller Walleye are the tastiest. 13 to 19 inches great taste. Love that chipotle flavor.

Sounds like you are only partially hooked on Walleye. LOL Glad to see you did get bit on anyhow. It is amazing how you can have a takedown with 2 sharp hooks & miss'em. Thus the reason for a small treble stinger ! Thanks for a great report as always.
