First time fishing this lake. I loaded my pontoon boat and began by rowing out and trolling an Olive Willy. On the way out to the lily pads, I had two 10 inch rainbows in the net. At the first cut between the lily pads and the island pads, I had a big one on. I got it to the surface when the fish, looked like a 20 inch brookie, rolled over and my fly popped. Lost it!
I was basically in the lake for 10 minutes at that point. To sum it up, I fished about 4 hours and netted 20-25 fish. Most were 10-12 inch rainbows. I caught 7 or 8 brookies between 15 and 18 inches. What a great time!
The winds were calm and the lake was pretty flat. The skies were somewhat overcast and warm. Sinking line with the Olive Willy the whole time. I am looking forward to another day at Fish Lake
