Hit this lake for he first time at 7am. Did some research on google maps and decided to cruise all the way to the opposite end of the lake from the boat launch. Fished the shoreline with a jig n pig. Lots of pads n weeds the shoreline looked awesome. I hooked up about a half hour in. A nice largemouth right by shore, pushin 3 lbs. Though "sweet! It's gonna be a good day!" Fished til 11 with no other bites :(. I tried fishing some docks to no avail, just saw big carp swimming around. Chalked it up to spawning season with lethargic bed layers. Any tips for some great bass fishing would be much appreciated. I've been fishing the lakes on and off for 6 years now and am getting very disheartened with the bass fishing around here :(. I grew up in Minnesota fishing bass and it seems its a different breed out here? My son is crazy about bass fishing and I would love to get put on some good bank fishing lakes(from a boat). I'm not good with deep water bassin.

Really the best thing to use is jig heads and plastic worms especially around docks. I have had some luck with crank bait last time I was there and exactly where you were. Also hear that about in the middle of the lake is a calvert that runs under the water a really good spot. The best to fishing deep for bass is drop shot with plastics. Another good lake is Tapps. Awesome small mouth lake and they have some good muskie fishing there too. Sawyer, Washington are also really good bass lakes. If you really want to get into it though you should go to the east side of WA like Potholes or Banks. Both of which have walleye in them. I also grew up in Minnesota. Good luck and hit me up with a IM sometime we can talk more.

What russmcdonald is saying, is right on. Couldn't have given better advise. I fish Tapps a lot, and other than eastern washington, Tapps is a smallmouth factory. Maybe not the best is size, but in quanity it's hard to beat.
