Jeff took the MacDonald men out to chase some of those ever more elusive Lake Chelan Kokanee. He capitalized on the early start with an early double. After the first light flurry, it really slowed down. I got up there with Mr. Fifer and his little tribe of Indians around 6:25 or so. Jeff hung in there and pounded out a nice pile of Kokanee. I bailed on the Kokanee about 9 and chased lakers for an hour or so.
The Kokanee bit those Mack's Lures mini Cha Cha Squidders in orange, baited with Pautzke's Fire Corn in Yellow. Speeds of 1.1 to 1.4 were most effective. We got fish to bite from 35 to 75 feet deep.
Colyar ledge was a great location for a bankers bite on Lakers. They bit Worden Lures, T4 Purple Glow Flatfish and Silver Horde's Kingfisher Lite spoons in Chartreuse Double Glow Splatterback. Speed around 1.5 mph worked best. Depths of 280 to 330 feet were most productive. As always keep your gear working near the bottom.
