Got to Toad Lake around noon and put in. Not many people getting anything from shore at all, and it sounded pretty slow all day. I put on a olive and black non-weighted leech and kicked around the west end of the lake a little bit. Got about 6 takes like that but nothing stuck. Seems like they were biting very softly so that I couldn't get the set. After a while of being frustrated I switched to a Ice cream cone and a zebra midge as the dropper under an indicator. After about 30 seconds I had a good take and had my first fish of the day at about 12 inches. Another 30 seconds later, another one about the same size. After that had another take a couple minutes later. This one seemed much fatter than the others but still the same length. It got slow for a while but overall I had about 8 up to the tube. All fish were released and will live to be caught another day.
