4/30/2013 11:41:00 AMAs the water warms and it gets sunnier you'll need to add more weight to get deeper.
I've seen needlefish slay the cutts on Sammamish but have not figured them out myself, worth a shot if nothing else is working.

Hi everyone - hit the lake early this morning hoping for some action. Only think I caught was a wet boat during the morning rain shower.
Hit the water right about 5:15AM, launched my canoe just north of Idlywood park. According to my truck the temp was cold, right about 38.
Once in the water I rowed around a little bit, threw out a spoon I had already on my line, and then got caught in the rain. I ducked into the slough and hung out in some tree cover to try and stay dry (as possible). Waited out the rain for about 20 minutes then tried again.
No action on the spoons, switched to try some PowerBait with a floating bobber. I was using both the 'hatchery brown' color and 'garlic scented chatreuse' color mixed together. Only had time to cast out a few times, no noticeable nibbles.
I am not having much luck so any tips would be great. Going to try again later this week, maybe Friday morning.
