Word is the fish are scattered. Small schools of fish when you do find them. Catch a few out of a school, try and stay on them. They move around. Making fishing hit and miss. But generally slow.

Started fishing at 1pm. Fished some home made beaded spinner rigs, in various colors. Marinated shrimp, and Shelley corn. Ran into a guide at the ramp waiting for his afternoon batch of clients. He shared some very good information. I also found out my chosen color choice for the shrimp and corn was NOT a effective color at this time.

3 hours of nothing! Dad sais "lets go to Roses". I pop both rods off one rigged. Let the dodgers its to the surface. Start cranking the electric down rigged to put away. Reel one rod in,stow it. Do the same to the second, and a fish hits!

Land my first ever silver bullet. I say lets stay for awhile longer! Okay, dad sais reluctantly. I reset the rod on the Dr clip and sent it down to 20ft, and clip on the halibut clip for the second rod, and whammy! Another fat feisty fish in the net. Changed up gear several times. Adjusted leader length several times. Changed bait combinations. Depth was all over the place. Several dodger and sling blade swaps.

Ended up catching 2 more. 4 fish and one drive buy in one hours time. Then, could not relocate another school for the next 2 hours. Fish ranged from 15 to 16.5". But looked much larger due to there girth!

Spoke to 3 other fishermen at the ramp. 1 boat, 4 on 3 landed. 2nd boat, 1 hit nothing landed. 3 boat said fishing was slow.

I anticipated easier fishing. But all things considered. Could have been worse.

Sounds like the fishing is getting tougher - so what was the magic color?
