Monday morming~ So I actually went out Monday afternoon mainly to make sure the Tin Cup was operational; so launched at Atlantic City at 4:30 pm and fired up the Sizzler and she roared to life! So since the wind was blowing pretty strong from the north, decided to head over to the cove south of Seward Park and try out a new rig I had tied up. It was pretty hard to keep the boat straight but managed a little kokanee the shook off just as it got close to the boat. Went over the west side of Mercer and picked up a small 12" cutthroat which I released to get bigger and called it a day.

Tuesday morning~ Launched at 6:30am again to really fish this time and had a friend with me so we could run 2 rods so rigged one with the Brad's cut plug but put on a gulp 3" shad and the other with Ron's hand tied white hootchie with a sliver spinner blade. It took a while but I got the first take but it was a strange gradual take so set the hook and pulled in a 21" skinny cutt that looked starved. One of the hooks was through his gills so decided to keep it but was probably doing him a favor as I don't think he was too long for this world as he only had half a tail so probably was having a hard time catching anything to eat.

After that it's Ron's turn and he nailed a nice 17" er as we were leaving the cove and heading across to the island. He nails another one and I lose another koke before we call it a day at 10am. Not a bad morning for sure with a beautiful day in front of us I have visions of getting out again for the afternoon bite.

Tuesday afternoon~ Met my buddy Brandon ( fisherman20) at Atlantic city at 2:30 with high hopes but the wind and fish had different ideas for us. I strong breeze from the north was blowing so we headed to the south tip of Mercer to give it a go but only had 1 drive by. Motored over to the cove at Seward to try and get away from the wind but it wasn't much better there and had another drive by and that was it. A bit disappointing but that is Lake WA fishing for sure!

Hey Salmonbarry, Glad the sizzler is running A-OK after fixing the fuel line. That is one skinny cut, probably did him a favor. Tight lines - AH

A disappointing day on the lake is better than a great day at work! Thanks for the trip!

Did you check the stomach of that cut? I wonder if it had something blocking his mouth/throat or parasites made him so skinny.

Nice fish! Can't wait to get back out there... So much so that I have to look at fishing reports at least 5x a day at work to remind myself that weekends do in fact exist ;)

no parasites and his stomach was empty.. I think with lack of a tail was having a hard time catching anything to eat.
Thanks DR, it is great to have it running for sure without costing an arm and a leg.
