So had some time this morning to get the Tin Cup back out to try and see if I can figure out what was wrong with my motor. We launched at 7am from Atlantic city and didn't want to start that motor so early with all the apartments around so just headed over towards Mercer with the trolling motor.

Dropped the rods in and made a turn towards Seward park still going with my pink hootchie and pink gulp maggots. Not much action until we made a turn to actually head over to the old hatchery on Seward park when 1 of the rods go off and we have our first 'fish on' for the day! Didn't seem too big but as it's getting closer does a complete leap into the air and realize it's a kokanee! Not big but pretty cool, anyway back in go the rods and not too much further we hit another about the same size and comes off just as we bring it into the boat. Whew! 2 for 2 on koke's which is not usually my ratio! lol

Anyway picked up one more and a nice 17" cutt before I needed to get back in and get to work so we got ready to fire up the Sizzler. Noticed that when I squeezed the bulb on the tank gas was spewing from the housing on the motor so she fired up and sure enough half way it does the same thing likes it's starving for gas. So get home and realize it's the fuel line inside the motor to the housing that's cracked so after a half inch amputation of the hose and reattachment I squeeze the bulb and no gas leak!! She fires up first turn and I am one happy boat owner!! Thanks for all your help on my last post so I know where to turn when I have another issue.

Won't be out until next week as I have too much catching up to do at work over the next few days and commitments all weekend! see you on the water. No pics as forgot my camera and let my friend have the fish as he doesn't get out much!

If you have an older motor, you'd be wise to replace all the hoses with ones that are rated for ethanol fuel. Ethanol does a number on the old lines, slowly eating them away from the inside out. If the weather holds, I'll give it a go this weekend, might even see if I can't find a few panfish for the fryer.

Thanks G-man! Great info again- I have been getting my gas in Auburn at the fuel barn that is ethanol free but can't always make it there so will be my next project for the boat!

Hi again Salmonbarry - That's great you caught kokes in lake WA. I never knew they were there back when I lived on the West side. I would still treat the fuel with 2 plus 4; it really cuts the varnish and keeps the plugs clean in the 2 stroke. See you next report - Alan

Happy to hear it salmonberry! Yeah, I always use one of those ethanol neutralizers when putting new gas in. Sosensen marine was very clear with me about the importance of that when I bought my Tohatsu from them. The fact that there was a guy in the shop picking up his motor after they fixed ethanol damaged parts certainly helped reinforce their message!

hello salmonbarry, it sure is a "Great" feeling when the motor purrs after having trouble. Thanks for sharing your trip and best of luck on the water
