Launched around 1:00 and fished the south part of the lake to 3:30. It was nice and warm until 2:00 the wind started picking up and was getting hard to keep the boat straight. We trolled using cut plug herrings on one downrigger and brads cut plug on the other behind a sling blade down 20-30ft. Missed one take down and landed 2 on herrings. Decided to call it a day since it was getting too cold and choppy out there. Took the fishes home and cut one of them open to find it full of worms! Is it even safe to eat? Never seen that many worms inside a fish before.

Fish with worms are ok to eat as long as you cook your fish thoroughly. In most instances the worms will just be in the body cavity and not the meat. I have found that spawned out fish like the ones you caught have a higher rate of worm infestation, I'm guessing the stress that spawning puts on them reduces their ability to fight off parasites. In general I don't keep post spawn fish, the meat is typically soft, flavorless and lacking color, unless of course they are mortally wounded. How was the water color and debris down south? I saw that the Cedar was running high and had some color in it this past week.

Thanks for the info. The water was pretty clear, didn't see much debris. I didn't go to close to the river. I stayed closer to mercer island.
