I woke up this morning thinkin about going for a late steelhead at the skook. But with the weather coming in and possible crowds I just couldn't pull the trigger. So.... make a new plan. My fishin buddy broke his leg snowboarding a few weeks back so I asked him if he wanted to get out of the house and fish Leland. Sounds good! picked him up and got there around 1pm. He got a really bright cutthroat right off the bat but it looked like rainbow. Then a few minutes later I hook a perch while using power eggs. Heh? It wasn't big but still, a perch on the OP is pretty cool. The rest of the day we caught and released some nice rainbows in the 13 - 16" range on a mixture of spoons, rooster tails and power eggs. It was windy most of the day with a water temp of 54 degrees. The bite was good until about 5:30 and then for some reason it just dropped off. The total was 2 cutts, 6 rainbows and the perch.

Those bows sure do color up nicely this time of year.

Believe it or not, that fish in the pic was not a bow, it was the first cutty of the day!

For my 2 cents worth, I'd have said it was a rainbow as well. That upper jaw just looks too small. Beautiful fish either way though! The fish in this lake are really nice this time of year.
