Launched the boat from Mill bay launch around 11:00 and headed down to Rocky Point to scout out some Kokanee. There were only a few boats scattered on the lake so there wasn't a congregation of fishermen to point to the fish. The wind was brisk and a few whitecaps, but we were determined to make the best of the time on the water. Trolled around the Rocky point area then down lake trying the different depths looking for a mark to target. Nothing showing up on the depth finder except the ocassional Mackinaw. Went across to the south side and trolled down to the Blue Roofed condos the out across the lower trench toward the Red Roof condos. Still no marks on the screen. Worked my way down to lake side working in to 40 feet of water, and out to the middle of the lake. Finally marked a few fish in 50-55 feet of water holding around 40 feet down. Chased the marks with Pink squids, orange squids behind a flasher, and also Flash lites followed by a wedding ring. These were tipped with shoe peg. The only thing that produced a bite was the Seps flasher and an orange squid. I was able to boat 3 kokanees in the Lake side area, and on the way back up lake found a couple more in front of the Blue Roofed condos holding 45 feet down in 80 feet of water. It was a difficult day on the water with the waves and wind, and a shower thrown in, but 5 fish in the cooler made it a good day on the water. Looking forward to more stable weather and hungry Kokanee. The water temp was 50 degrees at the surface. Take care on the water and enjoy the great outdoors.

Good report Lewis, and nice pictures. It can sure get rough out there this time of year. I followed your example and spooled 750' of braid on each Scotty, can hardly wait to give it a try on Dworshak. Ken

Thanks for the comments everyone. I hope the Koke fishing is as good as I'm expecting. These are some of the best Kokanee I've been able to catch on Lake Chelan, but there may have been some others who has done so in the past.
