I fished yesterday for a couple hours in the afternoon until the sun went down. I decided to go to pond 4 since it was a decent day and to see if the fish were biting, just in case my girlfriend and I ended up wanting to fish it on Monday. So I headed there, fished along the usual spots, it was hard to do what I usually do, with just fishing a spot for 15-20 minutes and going to the other open spots since there were a lot of people fishing for trout during the afternoon. At first all I caught was a 9 inch perch using a jighead and 2 inch gulp minnow. But then once the trout fisherman started to dwindle down during the last 2 hours of the evening, the bass started to come out to play. I was originally went to try to catch crappie but didn't even catch one the whole day. I ended up catching 7 bass and lost another 6 fish, some of which I saw were bass, then some others were long distance released or got caught up in the weeds before I saw them. I also ended up catching a trout around the end of the day in the mix of catching all the bass. Most bass were about 12"-13", biggest was around 15". I lost probably the biggest fish of the day in the weeds when it stripped a little bit of line then dug itself in the weeds and got free when I tried getting it out. All in all good day, I might be back on Monday to fish here and Buena Pond for the first time if I don't end up trying to fish Bateman's Island or the lower Yakima for smallmouth with the girlfriend.
