Went to Mineral Lake that Saturday at around 4:30 AM. Too dark too fish we looked at our map of other areas that had possible good fishing besides the ones we already knew. My dad and I got in our boat at around 5:20 AM as light slowly came up. As we first started it looked promising in the beginning as we got several hits. Unfortunately, that did not last the whole day. However, at around 6:30AM my dad has his line spinning out and all of a sudden a huge fish jumps in the air. After about 10 minutes of fighting, it finally gave up. It was a 7 1/2 pound rainbow!!! (last year my dad caught a 10 pound fish now he has luck) That was the only luck of the day. I did not catch anything but my day caught three more fish in around 12 inches or so. I got a couple hits using lures. I saw three guys in a boat that limited on powerbait. Try this lake when it warms up, because the fish are more active then the chilly 52-53 degree temperature.
