Water is very murky. Moved to the northeast to fish the edge of the flats. Stuck two in two and a half hours. Both solid fish fat and hungry - 3lb and 4lb. One fell for Luke articulated Chartuse and White Pike Fly the other on a 7ONE7 CF Murdich/ Rainbow Trout pattern.. These early fish always seem to be in great condition - Not the skinny worn thin from winter fish .. In fact these fish were so tight and fat I would have to imagine they have been up on that flat feeding through this whole lunar cycle.. Will be booking trips for Newman starting next week. BASS ON THE FLY ... It Doesnt Get Any Better

Dont wait to go out... The Largest fish in the lake are the largest because they feed heavily early - Less competition for food..They move into the shallows early to take advantage of the warmer weather which draws in the the bait to feed in the new vegetation. If you can see the lilies breaching the surface.. Its time.. No pesky males to contend with and the fish are only in there to eat. Tight Lines
