The Varrelman women came out at the crack of 10AM to fish for Kokanee with me. We found them in depths of 50 to 100 feet. The fish were either deeply suspended or hugging the bottom We caught the fish mainly on orange Mack's Lures mini cha cha squidders baited with Pautzke's fire corn. The squidders were tied on 16" leaders and trolled at 1.1 to 1.4 mph. I looked for concentrations of fish on my sonar and tried to keep my downrigger ball running 2 to 5 feet above the concentrations. We caught a few of our fish on "poor man's outriggers" using 5oz's of lead and 150' of set back to get us into the fish. It was a beautiful afternoon and another 3 generation trip! Most of these fish weighed from 1 to 2 pounds being a chunky 15" to 17". They are a blast on 6' light action rods.
