This report is actually for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, the Wife and I fished Potholes at Medicare Beach and then at Mardon Resort. Due to the wind, Medicare Beach was a bust for fish, but a great location for solitude and bank fishing. We checked in at Mardon Resort and discovered the good fishing was at our doorstep. My wife caught a football sized rainbow prior to the evening's howling wind storm. We retreated to our motel room and then went a few yards away to the Beach Front Restaurant for a wonderful St. Patrick's Day meal of corn beef and cabbage for a mere $10.00 each. The new operators of the Beach Front Restaurant are nice people and the woman is a gourmet chef. You can patronize the restaurant without staying at the Resort. If you are in the area...TRY IT!!! Sunday morning the wind died down; so I went to the riprap and made a cast. Within minutes, I was hooked into an even bigger football rainbow than my wife's of the previous afternoon. With some luck, I was able to negotiate the riprap, play the fish and net it. My wife arrived in time to assist me with the netting of another big rainbow only slightly smaller than my first; then another howling wind storm with white caps arrived to make us call it a weekend. Thank you Mardon Resort and the Beach Front for the friendly and helpful service on my wife's Birthday Weekend.
