I took advantage of the Presidents day holiday to work from my boat for part of the day so had 2 friends who wanted the challenge of Lake WA so we launched at Coulon park at 7:30am. After a couple minutes of downrigger 101 proceeded to troll north along the east side of Renton and then cut over to the tip of Mercer island.

Ran a brad's cut plug (thanks Tesla) with herring on both downriggers with one hugging the bottom and the other in the middle of the water column and then a fire tiger needlefish on the long line which put it at about 20 feet down with 2oz of lead. After getting over to Mercer continued up the shoreline on the East side of the island towards Luther burbank park but not action at all. Marked a lot of bait between 20-30 feet but could not get one strike! changed out the one Brad's to a hootchie and then the needlefish for a mini apex but all to no avail. Trolled back across the lake towards the Seahawks training facility and then back to head south. A slight breeze most of the morning but easy to troll but COLD! water temp about 44 degrees

Finally called it a day and needed to run out some of the old gas out of my 2 stroke tank so motored around the south tip of the island only to see about 3 boats working the west side of Mercer! Maybe I was fishing in the wrong area but who knows! I will get a fish out of this lake one of these days but am seriously considering to head down to American lake next time just so I can get that feel of a fish on the line again!! haha

You're not the only one struggling. Fished all day on Saturday with the same results. Marked tons of bait but couldn't put anything in the boat.
