We were fishing by 7:30am and the first fish was on the ice in less than 5 minutes. We parked at Jerry's Landing and walked out and north about 300 yards. The ice is about 12 inches thick. After a hour and half we had 3 fish on the ice. The fish seemed to come in schools so the fish catching was in batches and then a long quiet time. Also had a lot of lookers with out biting, I am getting use to this, using a Vexilar fish finder. I broke off 2 fish, I have since changed to 6 pound test in stead of 2 pound. We will see how this works next Sunday. I caught 6 crappie with 2 large enough to keep. I also caught a keeper bass along with 9 perch. The largest perch was 9 and 3/4 inches. 2 perch were 7 and 1/2 and the rest between 8 and 9 inches. We each had several throw backs. We fished with small jigs and Gulp 1" bait, mostly pink but my partner did use maggots and caught 1 or 2 small fish. I caught most of the fish 2-3 feet off the bottom. So we kept 13 and can not wait to get back and do this again.
