First time on the water for this year and wanted to try for Lake Washington Cutthroat. Forecast was for sun and weather was supposed to better than Friday, but did not happen!

Launched at Coulon Park around 1000 am with calm water, low ceilings, decent visibility of 4-7 miles.

Trolling patterns were mostly north and south from Cedar River to the southern portions of Mercer Island. Target depth was 30-15 feet, with plenty of fish marked at these depths. The speed function is inop on my buddies boat, so we tried variations of different throttle settings which proved to be inconsistent, especially as the wind and chop picked up.

Two nice hook ups for the day. The first being as my buddy was texting his wife and not watching his pole. A nearby boat started yelling and waiving at us. I thought that somehow we might have crossed their lines, had an engine fire or something...buddy had a fish on....thanks for the alert guys!

Lure of the day was a pink hootchie with 3-4 pink Gulp maggots. With varying depths, speeds, scents, flashers and lures, we could not find anything that was interested.

Saw almost every boat around us hooking into something, so overall, a great experience and always good to spend time on the water.

Lastly, I would HIGHLY recommend reading G-man's presentation on Cuththroat Strategies for Lake Washington. He has complied a graduate level analysis and has done all of the homework for proven techniques to put fish in your boat. All you have to do is read it, read it some more and get to the lake- ti works! Thanks G-man!
