Finally hit the lake for the first time this year! Went out in the hopes that the small mouth would bite, had 5 hits, landed 2...It was a perfect day for me ! The smell of a outboard and having the lake to yourself, besides a few cutthroat guys, was awesome. Those guys are hard core, I always see a few of them when I'm out there this time of year...anyways, I had to fish from 45-53 ft to find em,, water was cold, my temps showed 40-41 degrees. Good luck out there this year !

Ha, I knew someone was going to post up some winter smallies, and those look sweet!
Correction - you winter bassers are hard core, flying around out there in an uncovered skiff of a boat. I know all too well how cold it is sitting behind the wheel of a bass boat in the dead of winter running at 50+mph! I'll take my enclosed cabin and heater this time of year, thank you very much.

Thanks G-man....I couldn't take it anymore.,..lol Cabin fever set in about two after elk season. Your right though, it was cold going from spot to spot...., and trust me, every time I see you guys out there...I think about how warm it must be inside there..either way, from a dock, river shore or boat, props to anyone getting out there and doing there thing this time of year ! Good luck, thanks again G-Man !
