Cindy & Sean Clark brought out Chuck Taylor and Dave Kortendick to fish with me on Lake Chelan. To avoid the strong cross-lake breeze in the early morning we headed uplake by the Yacht Club. Although we got the requisite bites, we had trouble getting the fish in the boat. After a few fish we headed back downlake and pounded the area below Wapato Point. Although the light biters and pull-offs continued to plague us, we continued to put fish in the box. Then the breeze laid down, the heavy coats came off and I remembered why fishing on Lake Chelan in the late winter can be so pleasant. I didn't even have numb hands when I cleaned the fish.

We fished a Mack's Lures Cha Cha Squidder on one downrigger and an Ace Hi Fly on the other. On one outrigger we fished a Silver Horde Kingfisher Lite spoon. On the other we fished a Rushin' Salmon Wobbler. All the lures produced. The Wobbler did best by a small margin. Depths of 200', plus or minus 25 feet were the most productive. Because of the wind in the lower basin out speed varied from .9 to 2.1 mph. The idle resume function on the TR-1 really got a workout and triggered numerous fish.
