I have fished Mayfield for tiger musky for 8 years now. I have to admit, it took a couple of years to learn their habits; seasons, water temp, habitat, etc. Also I have learned, that buying baits have become an addiction. Big mistake! There are certain baits that will work in different bodies of water, that won't work in others. I have found, in Mayfield: Plugs from yellow to a brown, in late spring work best around fallen trees and points. Bucktails in the same color, in the summer mos. around the same cover, plus weedbeds.
Those who fish Mayfield have to realize, Mayfield hasn't been stocked with tigers for a couple years. But the ones that are left are trophies. Very hard to catch because of too much natural feed.
I have seen tigers in cover approx. 38lbs+, But their guts are huge.
