Stopped at the fishing dock on Fort Lewis for an hour and a half. I was fishing with yellow Power Bait off the bottom. Caught a nice 12 inch rainbow, then nothing for an hour. Finally started to get some nibbles as rain showers started to move in from the south. I decided to give it 15 more minutes. Glad I did. A nodding rod tip turned far more serious as I started to reel in. It was a good thing I had brought my net to the dock, because this was the largest trout I ever caught: 20 inches, 4.5 pounds on the kitchen scale when I got home. It almost didn't fit in the net.

It is great to see another fisherman putting in the time and this time of the year we normally don't find many people fishing. Yellow power bait is the trick and patience...don't come for just an hour put in the time and American Lake will produce nice trout like you caught. Hope to see ya next Thurs..Fishinjerry
