This report covers saturday the 13th and sunday the 21st.
I really miss the pike fishing on the Pend Oreille River, however when the fish are biting on Cda Lake I tend to forget about the disaster that had took place on the POR.
The fish are in the "Get fat for winter" mode now and there are some quality fish to catch out there. There is a lot of water available to fish on Cda and you should be able to find fish in many of the main lake bays now. Look for weed beds in 4 to 10 feet of water. The double fish photo was from the 14th and the big fish photo was from Sunday the 21st. The fish have been biting on soft plastic frogs, x Raps, and Husky Jerks. On the 13th we even got a couple to take a spinner bait. Believe it or not, the big fish and another nice 8 1/2 pounder hit a fast moving jerk bait, not the typical cold weather jerk and pause. The big fish was my new personal best at 42" and 20 pounds 3 ozs.
I have been chasing this fish for 15 1/2 years, trying to top AJ's 12 pounder. I have boated 2 fish that were 11 1/2 pounds and many 10 pounders, prior to this fish, but Sunday was finally the day.
This ones for you AJ! I love ya!
Happy Fishing
