This report covers saturday the 13th and sunday the 21st.
I really miss the pike fishing on the Pend Oreille River, however when the fish are biting on Cda Lake I tend to forget about the disaster that had took place on the POR.
The fish are in the "Get fat for winter" mode now and there are some quality fish to catch out there. There is a lot of water available to fish on Cda and you should be able to find fish in many of the main lake bays now. Look for weed beds in 4 to 10 feet of water. The double fish photo was from the 14th and the big fish photo was from Sunday the 21st. The fish have been biting on soft plastic frogs, x Raps, and Husky Jerks. On the 13th we even got a couple to take a spinner bait. Believe it or not, the big fish and another nice 8 1/2 pounder hit a fast moving jerk bait, not the typical cold weather jerk and pause. The big fish was my new personal best at 42" and 20 pounds 3 ozs.
I have been chasing this fish for 15 1/2 years, trying to top AJ's 12 pounder. I have boated 2 fish that were 11 1/2 pounds and many 10 pounders, prior to this fish, but Sunday was finally the day.

This ones for you AJ! I love ya!

Happy Fishing

Wow, congrats on your new PB Mark! Not only did you break it, you hammered it! Congrats on breaking the 20lb mark too! With the dwindling numbers of Pike on the PO maybe an Idaho fishing license is in order for next year!

Thanks Mark and everyone. This fish was a real beauty. Not a scratch on her. She was certainly perfect. I would imagine that fish of this size normally have their fair share of battle scars but this one had nothing on her. The head was huge. I would say about 8" across.

Congrats Mark on such a beautiful and well deserved fish. Nothing makes me happier than to see folks who so generously give of their time and knowledge to help others out get blessed with such a catch. Knowing how much this particular feat means to you makes it that much more rewarding. Congrats again!
