I had 2 days to fish while the wife was over in EA WA so was planning on hitting the salt but my buddy couldn't make it up Saturday so decided to take a break from the rivers and salt and headed out to Clear lake to give Toni's home court a try! I was impressed immediately with the serenity of the lake and how few people were actually out for a beautiful Saturday morning.
Launched the 'tin cup' and started my troll down the middle of the lake to try and get a feel for things and make some turns to the left and then turns to the right and finally found some interested takers on the south side of the lake in 55 feet of water and anywhere from 22' to 28' on the wire. I was using a brass/pink Luhr/jensen dodger with the bloody mary tipped with pink gulp maggots and some krill scent and had pretty consistent strikes and lost quite a few on the way up but managed a limit of 4 kokes and a rainbow by noon.
It is a beautiful lake with breath taking scenery and only had 1 water skier hit the water for about half an hour but was confused because I thought the sign at the launch said 8mph limit on the lake.
