Decided to get away from the river madness for some subalpine trout fishing and i wasnt disapointed. This lake is beautiful. Its about a 3 mile hike from the end of scotty rd in granite falls with maybe 500 feet gain/ loss. It can be tricky to find so bring a gps. On to the fishing... I got the at the crack of noon, and started fishing using a panther martin spinner, within 5 minutes i already caught about 10 fish and had to keep 2 of them, because they were bleeding, so I switched to my flyrod. Everytime my fly hit the water it was fish on. All were 6 to 12 inches not monsters but a lot of fun. After 2 hours of nonstop action I left with my limit of 5, I c&rd at least 50 fish as well..well worth the hike

Side note, the water in this lake is extremely clear wih visibility near 15 feet the lake is very deep according to wdfw it has been surveyed at 107 feet deep. I fished from shore on some logs piled up. The best spots were as far out in the muddle as I could cast. the fish weren't holdng near shore at all but I think that is because water clarity was good and they could see me on the log.
