I finally hit the jackpot on Deer! I stopped into White Elephant yesterday and picked up some Apex lures (size 1.5). One in Chrome with a reflector on it and the other in a rainbow color. They worked like magic when tipped with a 1.5" piece of worm hooked onto the trailing hook. We got to the lake about 7am and did a few passes around the fist point off to the north of the launch with 1 hookup. After a few more passes we continued our troll along the south shore, picking up a 14" Mackinaw somewhere along the first 2 bays. The magic started after we came around the last point on the south shore heading into the larger southeast section of the lake. The western end of the southeast section of the lake was on fire. We picked up another 10 fish between 9am and 12pm. Most of the fish were in the 13" range, with a few in the 15" range that weighed in at 1lb 2oz. Sometime around 11 I put my GoPro into my custom made trolling enclosure and dropped it down with the downrigger to 20' and hooked up a trout in about 2.5 minutes. I had the rainbow Apex lure trailing from it by about 48". I've included the video of the hookup. Thanks for the tips Augwen! I've also attached a sneek peek at my new Deer Lake Bathymetric map I've been working on. It's by no means complete.. I need another couple of trips to the lake for it to be complete (and cleaned up), but it's coming along.

I think I saw you out there!!! I am glad you found the fish!!! Great video and the map is looking great. Another 10 degrees and the big guys will be cruising the top water. Then the fishing will be great!!!

Awesome map, what kind of depthfinder and computer program do you use? That is so cool.

Thanks. I have a Lowrance LMS-520c. It has GPS, which I believe makes it a Chart Plotter type of fish finder. It can save all the info about the depth and coordinates to the SD card it has and then I can import that data into a program called DrDepth.

DrDepth eh, I've been toying with the idea of getting a program like that. Nice stringer of fish! The watermelon apex and pro-troll lures have been one of my standards for many years, especially in sunny conditions.
