Had a great day fishing. Was able to catch the quadfecta... largemouth, perch, red ear bluegill, and crappie. Nothing of great size, but constant action in three hours. The only fish missing from the catch was the cutthroat trout and catfish. I have yet to catch a catfish from Forbes. Used a Repala on the spinning rod and a trout magnet on the fly rod to catch the fish. Most fun on the fly rod. Great lake for a float tube.

Yes, Forbes is a fun lake. VERY underfished. I think it has such great cover along the East side. I have wondered since they built that extension of water path going out East towarrd the grass field... I've wondered if that might be a good spawning ground for bass early in the year, but haven't had a chance to get an up close look at the depths. I fish it from my tube. If you fish that area... do me a favor and put your tube into Totem lake, and let me know how you do.
