Launched at 0530 and set DR at 35' with holo silver dodger, Shasta Wiggle Hoochie in light green and shrimp oiled shoepeg and maggot. Set second pole with a Pink Lady planer at 30' with laser cut Wonder Bread dodger, homemade light purple hoochie with hand-painted glow spinner. Made it almost to the south end of Silcox and bam - 15" 1#7oz koke on DR. Reset DR and Pink Lady drag starts singing! Another 15" koke at 1#8oz. Kept doubling back and picked up a 13" koke, lost two at the net about the same as the first ones, and a 12" RB.

By 0830 the bite was over and only RB reported by others. I must have been in the right place at the right time.

nice fish. That big kok I think is more like 16.5, what a chunker!

Thanks, Mike. I have noticed that when I use my cell phone camera that it distorts the sides of the photos and makes the tape appear shorter. They were measured and both big ones came in at 15", but FAT!

Hmmm, what kind of cell phone do you have that makes your fish look bigger Lou? I could use one of those before submitting pics for reports ;-) Those are beautiful full-bodied (and full length) koks!

One of my very serious hobbies is photography. The cell phone lenses are wide angle and have a shallow depth-of-field. With the tape in the background and the fish body closer to the camera, it exaggerates the size of the closest object. Ever seen a picture of someone's face really close to a camera and see how big their nose is? Same principle.
