Fished Saturday and Sunday for kings. Sunny yesterday cloudy today. No fish caught by myself or my buddy. 15 to 20 boats on the water out in front of the issaquah creek mouth. Marked lots of fish up high in the top 10 feet which I assume to be Kokanee for the most part. Fewer marks overall than I would've thought. Looked like some bigger fish suspended from 25-40 feet. Used green and purple dodgers with bare hooks red 4/0, tried herring strips, ace high fly, smiley blade/beads in front of hooks, used herring or krill scent on everything. Tried jigging with darts today too, pearl, bent them a bit for better action. Saw one king yesterday and one today caught, heard of a couple caught on the opener. There are some kings in there for sure, but not enough biters for us to come home with one. Used 12-14 inch leader behind flashers and trolled about.9-1.2 mph on average. Any thoughts on how to increase my odds are appreciated.

How is the parking lot crowds? I'm hoping to go there on weds and thurs morning. If it's too crowded, I think I'll just stay away....

I've been fishing Sammamish the past few weeks. When I get there in the morning, there's usually less than 5 rigs parked.

The biggest pitfall to sammamish is they don't open the dang gate until 630 which makes that first bite tough to hit, unless you have a place to leave your boat on the lake which I was able to do. It wasn't that bad Saturday morning though. Midweek should be easy. I'm probably going out tomorrow morning too, glutton for punishment.

Make sure you maintain that 100 yard distance from the creek mouth, the state game officer was out on saturday, stopped a few boats. Sunday there was a guy standing in the middle of the creek fishing, no state enforcement out though so he got pretty lucky.
