Great hot summer day on the lake. Got a late start, getting in the water by about 10:00am. Lots of bugs on the surface so fish were jumping all around until about noon. Took the boat out to the middle of the lake and drifted to shore working a pink jig rather quickly. It took about 20 casts to get a hit but I made it count and landed it (my first Kokanee). No bites after that, so I switched to a white shad and thought i'd try my hand at bass'n. I headed to the far side of the lake where there was lots of over brush. The first fish I hooked up on was right under a log and to my surprise it was a fat 13" beautiful rainbow. Continuing to work the overhanging trees drifting again to the far side of the lake I hooked up on another trout but didn't manage to land it. The very next cast I landed another 10" rainbow. No bass, but it was getting kinda late for them anyhow. Over all, caught my very first Kokanee and two great looking rainbows. Returned them all to the lake safe and sound to catch again another day.
