Set out early from work yesterday for the afternoon bite, on a solo mission.. got to Lake Serene about 5pm sharp, put the boat in and trolled out to a spot I know to hold some fishies, spotted them on the sonar, dropped anchor.. I threw on a power bait setup in green glitter since i had it setup already and needed to spool my other rod/reel so i could do some bassin or trolling, not even 2 minutes in, pole bends and its fish ON! (its my kids Lucky pole by the way!) let'em play a little and got it in the boat. grabbed up some more green goo and tossed it out and continued to setup my other rig for trolling/bassin, finally got the line tied on and started to reel line onto the spool and wham! fish on! little more play again and got the fish in the boat. i think i switched rods i had setup already for powerbait at this point and tossed some more green goo out there, let'r sit. I was finally able to rig up the other setup this time, but soon after it was Wham! FISH ON! #3 was just as feisty (as feisty as we hope stocker trout to be) played it out a little and put'er in the boat.. on with some more green goo and repeat within the next 10 minutes, ALL this time while talking to my partner the video camera :) (videos for another day soon.)

I stopped the power baiting at 4 fish as my original plan was to troll some and toss various offerings at the docks and lilly pads for Bass.. but the catching sure was good for that 1st hour on green goo and hard to stop when you're on fish. These fish were nice and healthy. The fish feed well in this lake.. so on i went, trolled up the south side of the lake tossing a top water at the docks as I trolled slowly by. got all the west to the east end with no signs of fish looking to eat my bait, so i trolled back to the west end with a dick nite, nothing again..

convinced I was done fishing i trolled around in some circles with my trolling motor, testing out the speed with my GPS, this 30lb thrust minn kota hits a whopping 3.2 MPH with the wind!! pushing my 14ft along just fine for these smaller lakes.. i still prefer the sweet smell of my 2stroke.. but what the hay. to many small lakes to pass up round here..

shot some more sunset video as i cruised back and called it a day.. headed to my buddies house on the way home and fed his family.. :)
it was a nice relaxing but fish catchin solo mission.. sometimes my best days fishing are Solo.. its also needed for sanity.. :)

5 Stars for good happy thoughts

pics:

- 1st fish on in 5 minutes on the lake
- 4 keepers
- dropping the boat in on glassy lake, the anticipation shot.

Hey,! I recognize that boat ramp. Been a looooooong time since visiting. But does look the same. Lilly pads and all. Nice Gringo type Mo-Stach.........LOL! A couple years back I was apparently watching too much Orange County Chopper and grew a muff stash like your drawn on version.
Cannot make out what is drawn inside the sun glass lenses. Unless that is Big Bird?

Seattle its not to bad if there isn't traffic.. green lake fishes well too but i like taking the boat out.. thats the moose stash... what i'm calling it..
