Fished the Lake for almost 9 hours. Early morning caught all three fish of the day. 1 LMB that was 1.5 pounds decent. 1 LMB barley 4" and a 11" Rainbow. This Lake is so interesting because the while fishing for bass we accidently caught the Rainbow trout on a crankbait! I can't believe how much perfect bass habitat lies in the lake and only caught 2! We tried throwing everything at them jigs, crankbaits, wacky worm, spinners, drop shot you name it. I would love to figure out what the secrets are by someone who has been sucessful at this Lake because I felt helpless. Water was very warm and there was an overcast of clouds untill early evening before it burned off.

They are there, you just have to put in some time. I think there may be too much perfect cover, if you fished every piece of cover it would take you all summer to cover the lake.

Fatbasstard hit it right on. Just too many good places, both on the shore and out in the middle of the lake. Finding a pattern is almost out of the question. I was raised just two miles from Kapowsin Lake and have bass fished it countless times. And even back 30 years ago when all the lakes were kicking out big bass and lots of them, Kapowsin Lake was still one of the most frustrating lakes to catch bass consistantly. What now has made it even worse is when some outfit decided to log its bottom of the sunken logs from the log booms St. Regis used to have on the lake up until the 60's. I actually watched their floating yarder and grappling hook in work. When they brought up some worthless snag they just let go of it, leaving it sticking out of or near the surface, making even more bass hangouts. I used to know almost every stump and log on or near the surface. And where to watch for them. Now I bounce around out there like being in a pinball machine. So don't feel bad. I know a half dozen very good bass fishermen who have fished that lake. And every last one of them came off the lake scratching their head.
